With the global soccer community reaching a fever pitch for the 2023 women’s world championship, Spitball found the perfect opportunity to celebrate the “Beautiful Game” with De La Viuda Hot Sauce’s “Art of Spice” brand anthem. With the costs of a team partnership skyrocketing, Spitball made the strategic decision to work with individual athletes to maximize exposure while benefitting from the halo effect leading up to the big tournament for a fraction of the cost.

PROGRAM LAUNCH

To kick off the program, Spitball produced multiple reels introducing consumers to Mexican-American national players Sofia Huerta (@sofiahuerta) and Ashley Sanchez (@ashleysanchez). In addition, Spitball launched a teaser reel that promoted the chance to win custom branded soccer balls, meticulously painted by our wickedly talented Spitball graphic artists.

De La Viuda Hot Sauce, a female-led privately-owned business, partnered with both Sofia and Ashley to not only amplify the products but also further the brands foundation of female empowerment. A key part of the program was for the athletes to create a series of custom pieces which showcased how the brand positively contributed to their nutritional preparation for competition. The content generated an estimated 5.8MM impressions.
