As a proud New Jersey agency, we love working with partners in our own backyard – especially those who help make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors. When JBJ Soul Kitchen, the community restaurant founded by Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi (yeah, THOSE Bon Jovis) created a new line of coffee products, they came to Spitball to help launch it. Of course, we eagerly said “We’ll give it a shot!”
This coffee is unique because it’s part of the JBJ Soul Kitchen mission of fighting food insecurity in our area. We had to make clear that with every sip you’re helping to fund meaningful work that feeds and empowers people in need. JBJ was already using a lot of powerful messages, but they needed to simplify their huge brand story into something that can fit on a bag of coffee grounds. Spitball led the client team through a custom SpitScribe workshop to collaboratively create the brand’s messaging structure and manifesto. We took that story and crafted for it a breakthrough design system that captures both the gourmet taste and humanistic values of the JBJ brand.
